Pinetree.doc (This file)
This file contains every hard surface airport, grass or dirt
strips, floatbases and navigational aids in the State of
Maine, and some in the neighboring areas of New Hampshire,
Massachusetts and Canada.
The Portland International Jetport is rendered in great and
accurate detail, and there are lots of buildings in Portland
and South Portland, including Fort Gorges in the harbor, Fort
Preble in South Portland, Portland Head Light, Bath Iron
Works, and, about a mile from the approach end of Runway 29,
my house! Also included is the Summer White House of former
President Bush in Kennebunkport. You can fly to Yarmouth,
Nova Scotia or Quebec City in Canada, and you'll find a
highly detailed Logan International Airport in Boston. (There
are also a few surprises along the way.)
I have included one imaginary place, "Steve's Camp" on Eagle
Lake in northwestern Maine. There isn't much up that way, and
it provides a rest stop as well as a VOR to help you along
toward Quebec. All other navaids and landing fields are
accurate. Of course, all other features of SD-12 remain
functional.
One note; I have set the scenery radius very long to prevent
conflicts, so you won't be able to fly into adjoining areas
using other custom made scenery unless you "tinker" with the
radius.
