ChemPic V1.0 - Shareware Manual
----------------------------------------------------------------
Shareware license agreement:
You may use ChemPic-graphics in your private documents for an
unlimited time. If you want to use ChemPic-graphics in
commercial purposes, you have to register ! The registered
version contains approximately four times more graphics than the
shareware version, so private persons should register their
version, too.
1. COMMON
ChemPic is an extensive and valuable collection of over 100
chemical graphics in the shareware and almost 300 graphics in
the registered version. Most word processors are able to import
ChemPic graphics directly according to the fact they were saved
as *.PCX graphic files. All graphic programs are also able to
import ChemPic graphics so that they easily could be modified.
Texts in the graphics are missing so that they could be used
more versatile.
The graphics are either scanned or self-made, but all graphics
have at least a resolution of about 300 dpi so that they could
be printed with a laser printer.
2. INSTALLATION OF CHEMPIC
Due to the fact of limited disk space, ChemPic graphics are
delivered as compressed files. The decompression process is
performed automatically by a batch program. To install ChemPic
to your hard disk, please follow the instructions below:
- Copy all files from the delivered diskette to an empty
subdirectory of your hard disk.
- Change to this subdirectory and type:
INSTALL
- The installation program will start to extract the compressed
files into their uncompressed *.PCX-format. After complete
installation of the graphic files you can start your work with
ChemPic.
3. Structure of ChemPic
To guarantee an easy use, all graphics are strucured as listed
below:
- lab equipment: burets, flasks, stands, tubes ...
- apparatures: distillation devices, extractors ...
- models: models which e.g. explain the chemical bond ...
- modern analysis (principal instrumental analysis, e.g.
spectroscopes)) ...
A two-character-appendix characterizes each graphic:
GR = lab equipment
AP = apparatures
TM = models
MA = modern analysis
5. Registered Version
The registered version contains approximately four times more
graphics than the shareware version. Registered users will
receive a short printed manual in english language. In this
manual, the function of every graphic is explained so that it
easily could be used in your own documents. Further on,
registered users can receive inexpensive updates. A complete
registration form could be printed out by typing "PRINT
REGISTER.FRM".
