  10.                        Closes his grocery
  11.                        Someone's dog
  12.                        Barks in the distance
  13.                        
  14.                        Last bus of the evening
  15.                        Limps from one stop to the next
  16.                        With its pot bellied men
  17.                        Reading their newspapers
  18.                        Who will climb to their two-rooms
  19.                        To munch the sandwiches
  20.                        Left by already sleeping wives
  21.                        Sip a beer
  22.                        And tumble into bed, exhausted

  24.                        The smell
  25.                        Of a thousand suppers
  26.                        Drifting down ancient streets
  27.                        To join a forgotten ocean
  28.                        Of earnest hopes
  29.                        For working class children
  30.                        And fleeting tender thoughts       
  31.                        Of maybe lovers
  32.                        All dashed against the grimy cobblestones

  34.                        Ghosts
  35.                        Of Dutch settlers
  36.                        Playing ten-pins
  37.                        Roll a ball
  38.                        Toward shivering hookers
  39.                        The pure and the soiled
  40.                        Share the night

  42.                        A grandmothers' gray hair
  43.                        Kissed that morning
  44.                        Hangs caught in the shoestore sign
  45.                        Waving in the chilly breeze.
