  5. "Another such incident came about through my zeal for the New
  6. Testament experience of 'speaking in other tongues as the Holy 
  7. Spirit gives the utterance.'  Operating in the Gifts of the Holy 
  8. Spirit had, over a period of years from my first exposure to the 
  9. phenomena, become an important part of my spiritual walk.  I had 
  10. given messages in tongues in various settings, and on two occasions 
  11. experienced a powerful anointing, the sense of being in God's 
  12. presence and under His covering.

  14. We had invited a couple to go with us to a small church in South
  15. Georgia, where a friend pastored.  As the intensity of the meeting 
  16. grew, I prayed earnestly for the young family.

  18. Later in the service, Juan joined us in praying for another person, 
  19. and I rejoiced that he was praying in tongues!  That meant, to me, 
  20. that he had received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit during the 
  21. meeting.  Later, as we were driving home, I asked him about his 
  22. experience, and he told me he had been praying in Spanish, his 
  23. native tongue.  That, too, was sobering, and caused me to re-
  24. evaluate my approach to spiritual matters."
