IOMAG-Net GENERAL GUIDELINES!
Any Network worth It's salt has Rules and we are no exception. We
are trying to keep the rules to Simple Common Sense. We want the IOMAG-Net
to be Informational and fun, but not Burdensome.
Conferences are Topic Specific, but we will allow for deviation.
For example; If someone is Talking Lan systems, in a Lan conference, and a
user reponds that he has such a system and will sell it for x amount of
Dollars. This is not an infraction of the rules (Since it "is" Topic
specific). He will NOT have to go to The "For sale" conference and post.
This "DOES NOT" mean that conferences can be filled with sales pitches
or ads. The Key words here are "In the Course of the Conversation."
Since This Network is for all and accessible by all, we do require
that the language be kept in a -- >"PG"<-- rated mode.
All Net sysops are required to carry the Net administration
conference. It is for Net sysops Chat, exchange of ideas, and/or questions,
suggestions for the Net. This conference "MUST" be "PRIVATE" and accessible
only by Net Sysops and their co-Sysop/s.
There will be no Verbal assults on Individuals or Flaming allowed on
the net.
We Don't require, but we do request that nodes carry at least 5
IOMAG-Net conferences.
Aliases are not Permitted (Except in a Designated Conferences)
<See Conference List, CONF.LST In this Packet>
No illegal acts of "ANY" kind will be permitted on the Net.
Any Dispute that may arise between nodes or hubs will NOT be handled
in public conferences but will be resolved by the two disputing parties
and "IF NECESSARY" The IOMAG-Net administrator, whose decisions are Final!
Any Net Sysop knowing of anyone who wants to be a conference
Moderator and is qualified, should contact the IOMAG-Net Administrator.
--------- HUBS
We are Looking for HUBS. Anyone interested must meet following
requirements.
1.Must have a High speed Modem
2.Must carry all conferences
3.Must Echo to at least one Other BBS
4.Should make mail runs to The national Hub "AT LEAST" once every
other day, barring Emergencies.
HUB RULES
1.ABSOLOUTLY NO Handles allowed in the Net except in such conferences
so designated in the Conf.LST file. We Realize that this is
not going to please some, but we are resigned to the fact
that you can't please everyone! It is the Hubs responsibility
to do his/her best to make sure his/her Board and Polling Nodes
comply with this rule!
2.All New Conferences to be added to the Net must have the Approval
of The IOMAG-Net Administrator (Michael Gray). All Network Nodes
may request additional conferences by leaving mail in the Net
administration conference.
3.All Hubs adding new Nodes, must forward their applications
to the National Hub on the next available mail run through private
mail via the Hubs conference. (Please notify us When a Node is
no longer a part of IOMAG-Net)
4.All mail to the Administration concerning Hub activities, Disputes
or Nodes should come through the Hubs conference.
5.Hubs should make sure that New Nodes have their IOMAG-Net origin
taglines in working order.
6.Hubs should call all new applicant's BBS, to verify they have
applied, before giving access to the Net.
7.Regional Hubs cannot give out Node ID numbers. They will come
directly from the National Hub once application is recieved.
8.Any node in constant violation of Network rules or guidelines
will be given two warnings, after which further violations
shall be considered Fatal.
9.Hubs must remove any node from the Network that the Net
administrator deems in Fatal Violation.
10.Hubs should do their best to make sure all nodes under them
follow the Rules and guidelines of IOMAG-Net.
11.Hubs should Keep a "CURRENT" IOMAG-Net Information file
(IOMAGNET.ZIP)
available for Download from his/her BBS. (Let's spread the word
and grow Together)
These rules are not burdensome but are required to keep control in the
net, and for the smooth operation and easy transfer of EchoMail.
Interested Parties should leave mail at the Arkansas River Valley BBS
indicating that they have read the HubRules and agree to the guidelines
set forth. Thanks again for your Interest in becoming a Hub for
IOMAG-kNet!
