AVERAGE USERS MONTHLY
An electronic media magazine dedicated to the support of
the average user. No extensive technical jargon, nothing to
insult the intelligence of someone who obviously has the
knowledge to download these files.
DISCLAIMER: The views represented herein do not necessarily represent
the views of the editors. Monthly contributors assume all
responsibility for ensuring that articles submitted do not
violate copyright protections.
NOTE FROM EDITOR: Distribution is picking up. What can I say? Now several
Bulletin Board Systems are carrying this publication
on a regular basis in both Canada and The United States. Check out the
DISTRIB.xxx file for the number nearest you! Feel free to pick it up
for your system. Give us a shout if you're interested.
Lots of information from IBM this month. A new DOS version, as
well as some Windows slamming/flaming. I'm always in for some of that.
After reading the PC DOS overview, I think I'm going to switch from
MS-DOS v6.0 to PC-DOS v6.1, many features in there that I like, however,
keep the Data Compression. I like Stacker just the way it is, thanks.
Groan. I've spent sooo much time, money, and effort this month
letting everyone know about the magazine. Finally figured out Internet
newsgroups, and racked up the phone bill sending out the magazine. All
in all the most productive month so far. Not too many contributions to
the magazine though. I've had to do all of the research myself so far. Look
for more information coming to us via the Internet. Many thanks to
Internex Online for thier support and services.
As an additional service, we are now adding in a section for free
bulletin board listings. Not that we would ever charge for such a thing,
but you don't have to carry the AUM on a regular basis. Also, people from
all over Canada and The USA (World?) will see it. Why not? It may add a few
callers to your system!
