  4. The following changes have been made in the SIMTEL20 CP/M index,
  5. which has just been updated to reflect the above changes.
  6.  
  7.    1. All files are listed in SIMCPM.IDX.  Those which have no
  8. descriptions have "No description available" in that field.
  9.  
  10.    2. NODESCR.IDX has been discontinued.
  11.  
  12.   A list of all files in the CP/M archives is contained in directory
  13. PD2:<CPM.FILEDOCS> as follows:
  14.  
  15. SIMCPM.IDX contains a listing of all files, with a brief one line
  16. description for each file.
  17.  
  18. SIMCPM.ARK contains the latest SIMCPM.IDX, AAAREAD.ME (this file),
  19.      SIMCVT.BAS, SIMCVT2.BAS, SIMCVT.EXC, SIMCPM.DB2, SIMCPM.HDR,
  20.      SIMCPM.INF, SIMDISP.AWK, SIMDISP.DOC, SIMCVT.FOR, and SIMDISP.PL.

  24. QUICKREF.LST a quick reference list to SIMTEL20 CP/M directories.

  26. SIMCVT.BAS and SIMCVT2.BAS are BASIC programs to convert SIMCPM.IDX
  27.      to a human-readable text file.

  29. SIMCVT.C a Unix C program to print SIMCPM.IDX.

  31. SIMCVT.EXC a VM/CMS REXX program to print SIMCPM.IDX
  32.  
  33. SIMCVT.FOR a VAX/VMS FORTRAN program to print SIMCPM.IDX

  35. SIMCVT.SPS a VAX/VMS SPS program to print SIMCPM.IDX

  49. PD2:<CPM>FILES.IDX is updated when new files are added to the CP/M
  50.      archives.  This is a comma-delimited file, without descriptions,
  51.      suitable for importing into PC-File+ or DBase III.

  54.                          DISCLAIMER
  55.  
  56. Due to the large number of files available, the archive maintainers
  57. cannot possibly attempt to validate the proper operation of the
  58. various programs.  When a program bug is reported, immediate action is
  59. taken to either correct the error or remove the offending program from
  60. the archives.  Still, users must understand that all archive programs
  61. are offered AS IS, and the archive maintainers specifically disclaim
  62. any liability should these programs malfunction or cause damage,
  63. incidental or otherwise.  When testing ANY new software, be certain
  64. that all information stored on disk is backed-up before you start, so
  65. that you can recover if files are damaged or erased.  This is
  66. particularly true if you have a hard disk, in which case malfunctions
  67. can be spectacularly disasterous.

  71. Messages about system problems, FTP problems, and network problems

  80. Messages about problems with BITNET or EARN file servers should be
  81. directed to the system administrator at the server location.  SIMTEL20
  82. does NOT run these servers.
