TITLE: A Chart Does Not Paste From 123 to Ami Pro
PRODUCT: Ami Pro 2.0
DATE: 17-Oct-1991
PROBLEM:
A 123 chart, after being copied to the Windows Clipboard, does not paste into
Ami Pro.
SOLUTION:
When a chart that has been added to a 123 worksheet has been copied, a Paste
command in Ami Pro will paste the text contents of the clipboard (the contents
of the worksheet range beneath the chart exist in the clipboard in Rich Text
format). The worksheet range beneath the chart is usually empty, so it
appears that nothing pastes into the Ami Pro frame.
A method for choosing the data format that will paste is achieved by using the
Paste Special function. This function will allow you to choose a format that
displays the chart in the Ami Pro frame.
USING PASTE SPECIAL INSTEAD OF PASTE
1. In 123 select the worksheet range occupied by the chart.
2. Choose Edit / Copy to copy the chart to the Clipboard.
3. In Ami Pro choose Edit / Paste Special.
4. From the format choices, select Picture.
5. Choose OK.
6. Ami Pro automatically creates a frame and pastes the 123 chart into the
frame.
NOTE: If a copied 123 chart is separate from a worksheet (chart is in a
separate window), a regular Paste into an Ami Pro frame will paste the chart
in Picture format into the frame.
