SHAREWARE REVIEW
PROGRAM: LASERLST - Prints Two Pages in One on LaserJet
AUTHOR: PC Magazine
REGISTRATION: Public Domain
WHERE FOUND: Heath/Zenith User Group BBS (314) 291-8653 PCMAG Utility
RESTRICTIONS: Must Have a LaserJet
RATING: 9.0
Owning a laser printer is a costly venture; the supplies, electricity, and
paper costs can jettison the advantages of owning one right out the roof.
You say 4PRINT was the answer to controlling some of those mountainous
costs? Well, I guess if you want to plunk down $25.00 for something that
you can get for free, fine...
Owww, that last jab hurt. Actually, LASERLST is not intended to take the
place of 4PRINT, but to work as a small persons 4PRINT; those who do not
have $25.00 to lay out, or for those who don't care about power.
USE: LASERLST uses a command line interface to accomplish its goal:
Printing two pages of normal text on one using a Laser Printer. The
only option available is the ability to turn tabs into spaces. Hardly
an option flowing piece of software.
The beauty in the program is its rugged smallness. At 1.6K it handles
the major function of 4PRINT (88K), to print two pages on one side with
a laser printer, without a problem. The smallness in size does lead to
discomforts. Some of the amenities that you have grown accustomed to
using 4PRINT are gone. (IE: Countdown Page Numbering, Borders, and
Display Control just to name a few.)
Suggestions for Improvements? Nothing. At 1.6K this program is an
excellent choice for those who consider ShareWare a poor investment,
those who don't want to shell out $25.00 for 4PRINT, or those who are
RESOURCE MONGERs. If you need the little perks that 4PRINT offers, or
are a heavy documentation printer stay away.

LASERLST's best point is its size/performance ratio. (What is this, the
Monster Truck Cable Station?!?!?!?) Seriously, in only 1.6K you achieve a
major function of a program that takes 88K. The switches that are lacking,
as well as, a countdown page number counter would have been nice. Heartily
suggested!
