  4. Some  people   wonder which way to
  5. turn nuts and bolts. Most of these
  6. things on a bicycle, as well as on
  7. other   household  machines,  turn
  8. like  a  jar  lid.   If  you  turn
  9. counter-clockwise,  they loosen or
  10. come off, and,  like  putting  the
  11. lid back on a pickle jar, when you
  12. turn them clockwise, they tighten.

  16.    How tight do you  tighten  nuts
  17. and   bolts?   There  is  no  easy
  18. answer.  Do   be   careful   about
  19. breaking  things.  It  is  best to
  20. practice  with  nuts   and   bolts
  21. around  the  house  that  are less
  22. critical than bike parts to get  a
  23. feel  for what's right.  Some bike
  24. parts are  particularly  demanding
  25. in    having    just   the   right
  26. tightness.  When in doubt, have an
  27. experienced  friend   check   your
  28. work.
