  4.   To  add ATF fluid,  you will  need a long neck funnel.  The fluid is added
  5. down the tube that holds the level dipstick.  The engine does not have to be
  6. running when you add the fluid but it will have to be running when you check
  7. the level a second time.  Be cautious about dirt falling down the tube.     
  8.   You will find the filler/dipstick  tube toward the back of the engine near
  9. the firewall.  There are as many  variations to this as there are cars.  See
  10. if your owners manual shows the  location.  Some  manufacturers  have labels
  11. pasted on or near the tube.

  16.   If possible,  park  your  car in
  17. the same  location so if there are
  18. any leaks, you can see the approx-
  19. mate area where the leak is coming
  20. from.  ATF fluid is  red.  If  you
  21. do have a leak,  the  most  likely
  22. ~

  24. place for a  leak is  the pan  on the
  25. bottom of the transmission.  It could
  26. be as simple  as tightening the bolts
  27. or even that  the gasket  needs to be
  28. replaced.  Check your  manual to  see
  29. when the filter should be replaced.
