  6.     Raw oysters often carry the hepatitis A virus, which causes a
  7. truly unpleasant (though not necessarily fatal) liver disease.
  8. Now comes a vaccination of sorts, and one that many people will
  9. find easier to swallow than the oysters. According to a report
  10. in the journal Epidemiology, chasing oysters with a glass of
  11. wine or a cocktail can reduce the risk by a whopping 90% no
  12. matter how many oysters are downed. It's the first time anyone
  13. has shown alcohol can prevent viral illness.

  17.     Johns Hopkins researchers say they have discovered what may be
  18. the essential signal that triggers erection: a tiny secretion of
  19. nitric oxide by penile nerves. An ointment that promotes the
  20. production of nitric oxide might alleviate impotence; one that
  21. inhibits production could relieve priapism, prolonged erections
  22. unrelated to desire. Also, if nitric oxide turns out to rouse
  23. the clitoris, medicated cream could help women reach orgasm.
