  7.     Doonesbury's got a great tax-cutting plan, and Texas is
  8. eager to help. Sunday's Doonesbury strip included a coupon for
  9. readers who want to follow George Bush's favorite approach:
  10. making his official residence a posh Houston hotel so as to
  11. enjoy Texas' nonexistent state income tax. "Howdy!" says the
  12. coupon, which is addressed to John Sharp, the Texas comptroller.
  13. "I'd like to become a Texan!" Requests are already pouring in,
  14. and Sharp is busy sending out real estate ads for would-be
  15. residents, along with "Honorary Texan" certificates to get them
  16. started.
