  5. actor whose career spanned half a century; in Coral Gables, Fla.
  6. Ferrer, who was born in Puerto Rico, passed the entrance
  7. examination for Princeton University at 14. He went on to win
  8. an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as the long-nosed
  9. romantic poet in 1950's Cyrano de Bergerac. His later films
  10. include Moulin Rouge, The Caine Mutiny, Lawrence of Arabia, Ship
  11. of Fools, A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy and Dune.
