- TRELLIS - The Adventure Interpreter
- (c) copyright 1991-4 Soft Rock Software
-
- Distribution
- ------------
-
- When you have written an adventure game using this software, what do you do
- with it? The natural thing would be to make it available for others to play.
-
- The major problem with this is that by supplying someone with a game you
- would, in actual fact, be supplying them with a copy of Trellis with a
- different set of data files!
-
- Since it shouldn't be too difficult to work out how to write a simple game
- from these and the main program they would, in effect, have a fully useable
- copy of Trellis. Furthermore, any games they write and supply to others will
- also be fully useable copies of Trellis.
-
- I have decided that the last 'text only' release of Trellis, that is version
- 1.110p --- this version! --- may be freely distributed in the manner of
- public domain software and is free for all to use. Please note that this
- does not mean the software is pd, only that it may be freely distributed and
- use. Soft Rock Software retains full copyright on the product but is hereby
- permitting full distribution and use. Please also note that this is only
- applicable to version 1.110p - no other version is to be distributed in this
- way.
-
- The full list of files that may be distributed can be found in a ReadMe file
- to be found elsewhere with this software.
-
- This means, of course, that any games you write using version 1.110p may be
- freely distributed. In respect of version 1.110p there is no need to gain
- written permission from Soft Rock Software. If you do distribute a game,
- however, I must insist that the documentaion (on disk or otherwise) says
- pretty much the same as many of the files I have supplied - that Trellis is
- copyrighted to Soft Rock Software, but tha version 1.110p may be freely
- distributed and used. The more times this is pointed out and clarified, the
- better.
-
- Another thing I would ask is that out of the kindness of your hearts you
- would please send me copies of any games written with this version. I have
- one very simple reason for asking this - playing your games will give me an
- excuse not to do any work! You may use the FREEPOST address for sending me
- free copies of games. (See Instructs.Part8)
