  19. Title VI: Final and Transitory Provisions

  21.      1. The Constitution of August 21, 1965 shall be annulled on the day
  22. this Constitution comes into force.
  23.  
  24.      Laws and any other normative acts shall remain in force in so far they
  25. are not contradictory to this Constitution.

  27.      2. The institutions of the Republic existing on the date of coming
  28. into force of this Constitution shall remain in operation until the setting
  29. up of the new institutions. The Assembly of Deputies and the Senate shall
  30. carry on their activity in accordance with their own rules of procedure
  31. and other regulations with regard to the functioning of the Parliament and the
  32. statute of Parliamentarians, in force at the date of adoption of this
  33. Constitution.

  35.      3. Within six months from the coming into force of this Constitution,
  36. the Constitutional Council, the Superior Council of the Judiciary, and the
  37. Court of Audit shall be set up; a new law on the judiciary organization,
  38. the law with regard to the statute of the Defender of the people shall be
  39. passed and local elections shall be held.

  41.      4. The Legislative Council shall examine, within 12 months from the
  42. date of its setting up, the conformity of the legislation in force with this
  43. Constitution, and shall accordingly make proposals to the Assembly of
  44. Deputies.

  46.      5. This Constitution shall come into force after its adoption by a
  47. referendum. The referendum shall take place within 30 days from the passing
  48. of the Draft Constitution by the Constituent Assembly.
