The review of MUZAK in THE PUBLIC (software) LIBRARY June 1986
newsletter:
MUZAK by Aaron Priven. This program does an admirable job of tying
together a lot of music programs, many of which can be found on our MUSIC
disk (1-GA-094). MUZAK lets you select a category of music and then
select songs from that category. The words are displayed for some of the
songs. While interesting to listen to, these tunes, for the most part,
are restricted to the thin, one-voice capability of the PC.
THE PUBLIC (software) LIBRARY's newsletter is copyrighted by Nelson Ford,
and this excerpt is used without permission, although I don't think he'll
mind. If he does, I'll find out about it.
Fair enough. Anyway, this requires a little explanation. The weekend
before Nelson sent me his newsletter, I had gone to a local San Mateo
Computer Faire, and bought a couple of disks of music from a local PD
software place. I had been hesitant in looking at them, it being Finals
Week at school, so I didn't look at them until the next week. In the
meantime, Nelson's letter had come (that Thursday). On Monday, I was
looking at the programs, and found a couple by -- you guessed it --
Nelson Ford. Now, I don't actually know that it is the same Nelson Ford
as writes THE PUBLIC (software) LIBRARY's newsletter, but if it is, I
expect a better review! (Just joking...)
