  9. Addresses  and  Dates is the  result of about  300  hours of evening Microsoft
  10. QuickC programming.  A pair of programs  operate together.  AND.EXE allows you
  11. to  maintain a sorted  list of acquaintances,  their addresses, phone numbers,
  12. birth dates, and  anniversaries.  If initiated  from  your  AUTOEXEC.BAT file,
  13. REMIND.EXE  will  remind  you of dates  approaching  each time you reboot your
  14. computer  until  the  dates  pass by.

  16. While  designing  this  system I tried  to  maintain a simple,  effective user
  17. interface  which takes  advantage of the following PC keyboard's editing keys:
  18. INSERT,  DELETE,  HOME, END, PAGE UP,  PAGE DOWN, TAB, backTAB, BACKSPACE, the
  19. arrowkeys,  ESC, and the  general  function keys (F1-F6).

  21. The  reporting  capabilities  include  a phone list, a full  data  listing and
  22. various  ways  of  printing  mailing  labels.

  26. The unique  capability of this program is that it REMINDs you of birthdays and
  27. anniversaries.  Make sure to put a call to REMIND in your  AUTOEXEC.BAT  file!
  28. Make sure that some birthdays or anniversaries occur in the near future.

  30. This  program  was  written on  an AT  compatible  with a Hercules  compatible
  31. display  card  and a 9-pin  Epson  printer.  It has  been  tested  on XTs  and
  32. PCs and their compatibles.  CGA, EGA, and VGA  display  cards have been tested
  33. but  there are no  guarantees of it's  performance.  A reference  to  ANSI.SYS
  34. in your  CONFIG.SYS  file is  required!

  36. This  demonstration  version  will not support  more than 5 families.  Try all
  37. the  features and see if it would be a useful  program  to have.  I am working
  38. on some  enhancements and will send you a copy of my latest for only $12.  The
  39. software received will contain at a minimum:

  41.     *  The ability to store up to 100 families,
  42.     *  The ability to print only selected families during all reporting 
  43.        by placing a check mark on the screen,
  44.         *  Color support, and
  45.     *  The absence of this annoying introduction!
