Backgammon Help
{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}
Select option "1" to begin game
play. Enter player names at the
prompts. The backgammon board is
then drawn. The first thing you
need to do is decide who goes first.
You will see a "First 12r?" prompt.
Enter "1" if you want player 1 to
go first, "2" if you want player 2
to go first, or "r" if you want the
computer to decide at random.
Player 1 controls the yellow pieces
and must move to the yellow home
area at the upper left of the
screen. Player 2 controls the blue
pieces and must move to the blue
home area at the upper right. At
the start of each turn the dice roll
is shown. If a player cannot move
the computer will automatically end
their turn. To move a piece enter
the letter of the column of the
piece to be moved, then a dash "-",
then the letter of the column to be
moved to. For example, "a-c" would
move a piece from column "a" to
column "c" if the move is valid. If
you enter an invalid move no harm is
done. Simply re-enter the move.
For moves involving the bar or when
removing a piece use the <SPACE BAR>
as a coordinate (" -a" would move a
piece from the bar to column "a",
while "a- " would move a piece off
of the board from column "a"). You
can enter chat mode at any move
prompt by entering "c" alone. If
your screen gets corrupted due to
line noise you can re-draw it by
entering "r" at a move prompt. When
a game ends you enter chat.

The rules are the same as regular
Backgammon with the following
exceptions:
Doubles and 2-1 give you an extra
turn.
If you roll 2-1 in two consecutive
turns you get to pick a roll.
All pieces start on the bar.
You do not have to remove all
pieces from the bar before
moving pieces around the
board.
