OCR: CTRL-S to pause, CTRL-Q to resume . Battleship: Select option "1" to beg in game play. The caller must be player #1. Enternames accordingly. The next step is to place your ships. You will beprompted to place each ship one at a ti me, alternating between the callerand host. Enter placement coordinates for eac h ship as follows : (letter ) (number )-( letter ) (number )Examples :a1-a5b5-b8c1-e3If yo u enter an illegal coordinate you will have to try again. Playerscan only see t heir own coordinates . After the placement phase has ended you will be asked wheth er you want toplay with salvo fire. Enter "y" for yes, "n" for no. If you dono t select salvo fire each player gets one shot per turn. With salvo firethe numb er of shots you get per turn depends on how many of your ships areunsunk. Ships have the following values:Aircraft Carrier 4 shotsBattleship 3 shotsC ruiser 2 shotsSubmarine 2 shotsDestroyer 1 shot The computer determines at random the player who goes first. To entera shot you ent er a single coordinate as follows : (letter ) (number ) Examples : a1b7 j0If you are play ing salvo fire you may have to enter as many as 12coordinates, one at a time.Aft er you have entered your shot (s) you will then see the results. Aftereach turn you enter line chat mode. Players may then make comments toeach other. To exit chat press RETURN on a blank input line. It thenbecomes the other player's tur n to fire shots. Play continues until afleet is sunk. You then re-enter chat m ode. When you exit chat youwill then be able to see the other player's ship gri d . Miscellaneous Commands : If line noise corrupts your scree n you can force a redraw by enteringan "r" at a coordinate prompt . Good Luck!
