Under normal conditions, sky diving
is a snap. Once you get up the nerve
to yell "Geronimo!" and step out of
the plane, all you have to do is pop
the chute and drift serenely back to
earth. In this arcade-style game,
however, conditions are anything but
normal: would-be parachutists must
negotiate a path through constantly
rising barrage balloons. Contact with
a blimp is fatal.
The number of points scored is based
on the number of blimps passed and the
parachutist's position on the screen.
The closer to the bottom of the screen
the parachutist is, the more points
you get for each blimp passed.
Don't expect your parachutist to
land safely, however. He stays in a
state of continuous free-fall. The
only way out of the game is to lose
all of your three lives. Once you play
BLIMPS, you'll realize that losing
lives doesn't take long at all.
