  22. ^4 This  is  a  good  fun  disk  for  the  kids.  All kids seem to love
  23. ^4dinosaurs, from Dino of Flintstone fame to the real skeletons seen in
  24. ^4museums.

  26. ^2 In  the program docs Steve says that it was written specifically for
  27. ^2children,  and  he  has taken a lot of care to make things as easy as
  28. ^2possible  for  the younger player while still retaining the feel of a
  29. ^2real game.

  31. ^4 Each  part  displays  an information screen before going to the main
  32. ^4game,  this  gives you the necessary knowledge to get the best use of
  33. ^4the program.

  35. ^2 There  are  four  programs  on  this disk, which make it really good
  36. ^2value.

  38. ^7 These are:-  Dino-Saw  - mouse controlled
  39. ^7              Dinoslide  - mouse controlled
  40. ^7              Egg-stinct - mouse controlled
  41. ^7              Snakes and Caves. - joystick controlled
  42.  
  43. ^4 The games are selected from a very impressive looking  menu screen.
  44. ^4the background is a marble slab which displays the names of the
  45. ^4games. An arrow foats at each side and the games are selected by
  46. ^4moving these up or down with the joystick and choosing with the fire
  47. ^4button,
  48.  
  49. ^7 Dinosaw  is  a  jigsaw  puzzle.   There  is  a picture showing three
  50. ^7dinosaurs,  the  puzzle  pieces are squares which you fit back into a
  51. ^7grid.  You first see the completed picture, which disappears when you
  52. ^7press  the  `play'  button.   The  pieces are selected by clicking on
  53. ^7arrows  at  the side of a display box.  the pieces are shown here and
  54. ^7can  be  placed on the grid with a click of the left mouse button.  A
  55. ^7piece  can  be  removed by using the right button.  There is a `help'
  56. ^7button which displays the whole picture for you.

  58. ^6 Dinoslide  offers  a  choice  of  four  sliding puzzles, selected by
  59. ^6clicking on the numbers in the corners.  The pictures are really good
  60. ^6dino  pics  which  you  mix  by  clicking  on the `jumble' button and
  61. ^6reassemble  by  selecting  a  square next to a space.  It then slides
  62. ^6into  the  space and you're ready to move the next piece.  This is an
  63. ^6excellent version of a traditional game.

  65. ^5 Snakes and Caves is another excellent version of a traditional game.
  66. ^5There  are several novel touches.  The means of rolling a dice is the
  67. ^5best  I've seen yet.  At the start of a turn a boulder slides on from
  68. ^5the edge of the screen and hits a caveman on the head.  The height of
  69. ^5the  resulting  bump  decides the number of moves!  The player has to
  70. ^5move  his/her  own playing piece, (these are cavemen on pogo sticks!)
  71. ^5using  arrows,  clicking  on  the  centre  to  say  that  the move is
  72. ^5complete.   It is good that the child is involved in deciding how far
  73. ^5to  move,  but  there  doesn't  seem to be any checking to see if any
  74. ^5cheating  has  gone  on.   Another new touch is that some squares are
  75. ^5full  of  mud  where  you can get stuck and have to throw a 3 or 6 to
  76. ^5move on.

  78. ^4 Eggstinct  is a brilliant title for a prehistoric fun pack!  This is
  79. ^4a little platform game in which you control a dinosaur, a cute little
  80. ^4green  dino,  with the joystick.  His aim in life is to travel around
  81. ^4collecting  eggs,  avoiding the baddies and trying not to fall in the
  82. ^4water.   You  don't  die,  you  just get put back to the start of the
  83. ^4level.

  85. ^6 All in all this is an egg-sellent package and will give hours of fun
  86. ^6to young Dino holics.  Well recommended.
