  2. Subject: PRO-2032 Scanner Modifications

  4.    I had been looking for a cellular restoration modification for the
  5. PRO-2032.  I
  6. finaly gave up looking and ordered a service manual for the radio.  It turns
  7. out that
  8. this radio is a next generation design of the PRO-2006.  It still uses
  9. option selection
  10. diodes which are scanned as an extention to the keyboard matrix.  The diodes
  11. for the 
  12. option selection are surface mounted in a soldered in shield on the bottom
  13. side of the 
  14. circuit board.  By examining the artwork for the circuit board which was
  15. given in the
  16. service manual along with the schematic, it was determined that the scanner
  17. can be
  18. modified as follows:
  19.  
  20.   1) Cut the lead on the anode of D35
  21.   2) cut jumper JM69 in half
  22.   3) solder a wire between the anode of D35 and the side of the jumper
  23. closest to 
  24.      the label for JM69.
  25.  
  26.    If you have a FAX available, I can send you some documentation which will
  27. make this
  28. procedure clearer.
