FFAL100.EXE - Fixes FILES.BBS listings - Copyright 1992 by Chris O'Neill
------------------------------------------------------------------------
PURPOSE: Reads FILES.BBS files and removes any listings where the file
is no longer present.
REQUIRES: Requires a file contains an ASCII listing of file areas to
be search. The format for FLSEARCH.CTL is as
follows:
C:\Files\Areaname\
The trailing "\" is not important. FFAL100 will add one if
necessary.
OPERATION: Real simple! Just copy FFAL100.EXE into any directory on your
hard drive (I recommend you use the same directory that your
mailer or BBS program is in, but what the heck!). Then, create
a file containing a list of the subdirectories to be processed
(see above for format). Finally, run FFAL100 using this syntax:
FFAL100 filename
Where "filename" is the file containing the list of directories
to be searched. (Don't worry if you forget the "filename"
parameter... FFAL100.EXE will remind you with a friendly help
screen.)
WARRANTY: This thing will definately take up space on your hard drive.
That's all I guarantee it will do, although I can say that
it DOES work on my system.
SUPPORT: Yeah, right! ;-) Actually, if you have any comments about
FFAL100.EXE that you'd like to pass on to me, send netmail.
Please DON'T send flames.... my ego is fragile!
COST: Give your kids a hug. Give some money to your favorite
charity. Recycle something. Whatever. Just DON'T send
ME money... Having to worry about what to do with my
new-found millions will drive me nuts!
FOR THOSE FFAL100.EXE was written using Microsoft QuickBASIC v4.5 and
WHO CARE: ADVBAS v99B by Thomas G. Hanlin III. One of these days,
when I have more time and money, I'm gonna learn how to do
it in C/C++. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy it for what
it is.
