  9. Actmake uses the newsgroups in the active file to create the proper 
  10. directories for news storage under the NEWS base directory.  This 
  11. program will also verify any news directories that are already in place.
  12. When adding new newsgroups, it's often easiest to add the to the active
  13. file, and just run actmake. Actmake will not remove newsgroup directories
  14. that are not mentioned in the active file; these need to be removed
  15. manually, as the data contained within them may still be wanted.
