  173.     1.  During setup, some localized versions of the software may 
  174.         display a welcome screen with incomplete text.  This 
  175.         has seen when installing the German and Japanese versions
  176.         of the software.
  177.  
  178.     2.  When installing this software on an ICH2-based platform 
  179.         running Windows Millennium operating system, an automatic
  180.         reboot will occur immediately after Windows re-enumeration
  181.         has completed for the updated chipset devices.  This 
  182.         behavior is normal and necessary for Windows Millennium
  183.         to correctly update the IDE channels.

  186.     3.  This software will install the ICHxSMB.INF file on 
  187.         systems running Windows 98 Second Edition, even though 
  188.         the SMBus device is natively supported by the OS.
  189.         This is done to allow the easy update of any future SMBus
  190.         driver.

  193.     4.  During the Windows setup stage, the USB keyboard 
  194.         and mouse may not be accessible.  This is because
  195.         the legacy USB driver may be inactive when Windows 
  196.         enters the GUI mode.  There is a small window
  197.         of time when it may not be possible for the system
  198.         to accept user input.  Since the Chipset Softwre
  199.         Installation Utility may cause prompts during the 
  200.         Windows setup stage, it should be ensured that the 
  201.         system BIOS support for legacy USB keyboard and mouse 
  202.         is enabled.

  204.     5.  When the Chipset Software Installation Utility is run 
  205.         on a system with Windows 95 Original Release, the Device 
  206.         Manager may report a memory resource conflict.  This 
  207.         conflict involves the resources allocated to PCI cards 
  208.         that are located behind a PCI bridge.  The operating 
  209.         system incorrectly reports a memory conflict even though 
  210.         the memory resources in question are fully contained 
  211.         within the PCI bridge aperture.  This appears to be a
  212.         known issue with the Windows 95 operating system.  
  213.         The Chipset Software Installation Utility operation has 
  214.         no effect on this issue.

  216.     6.  Older revisions of the Intel(R) LANDesk Software Package 
  217.         may cause a Device Manager warning when installed on 
  218.         a system after the Chipset Software Installation Utility 
  219.         has been executed on the system.

  221.     7.  When running this software on Intel PIIX4-based chipset
  222.         platforms, an extra reboot message might appear after
  223.         the operating system has completed setup.
