  6.                 A Florida court Web site was restored Friday
  7.                 after two days absence following a break-in by a
  8.                 hacker who placed pornographic images in the
  9.                 site.

  11.                 Court officials on Wednesday took the state court
  12.                 system home page offline after a computer hacker
  13.                 apparently broke into the site and added pictures
  14.                 of nude men and women in various stages of
  15.                 sexual activity.

  17.                 The photos caused a stir among those who use the
  18.                 court page to access Florida Supreme Court and
  19.                 Appellate Court decisions. The home page is
  20.                 normally a little more staid, with plain
  21.                 wood-grained background and hypertext links.

  23.                 Prurient but disappointed surfers looking for thrills
  24.                 gave the court system home page one of its busiest
  25.                 days ever Friday, having heard about the incident
  26.                 or read about it in a local newspaper.

  28.                 "We've had a significant number of hits today on
  29.                 our home page," said Craig Waters, executive
  30.                 assistant to Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice
  31.                 Gerald Kogan. "With all the publicity surrounding
  32.                 this, a lot of people are curious."

  34.                 No files were tampered with and court records
  35.                 remained intact, Waters said. The Florida
  36.                 Department of Law Enforcement was contacted
  37.                 and was investigating the break-in.

  39.                 Court officials intend to prosecute the perpetrator,
  40.                 Waters said.
