- NOTES
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Restrictions for Demo Version
-
- This demonstration version of Personally Safe'n'Sound works in exactly the
- same way as the full working product with the exception of restoring files.
- Instead of being able to restore files at any time after they have been backed
- up, you can only restore them ON THE SAME DAY. This restriction does not
- apply to the full product, and files backed up by this demo can be restored
- by the version of PSnS "available in the shops".
-
- If you select to restore a file backed up more than 24 hours ago, the program
- will produce the correct panels, as if it was restoring the file, but NO DATA
- WILL BE RECOVERED. This allows you to see exactly how the full program works.
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Workplace Shell Recovery
-
- PSnS allows you to backup and restore the folders in the workplace shell. When
- you restore a folder, you may not see it appear immediately on the desktop -
- this is because OS/2 does not automatically refresh the desktop. In order to
- see the folder, select "Open - Tree View" from the Desktop menu, OS/2 will
- then spot the folder, and display it on the desktop.
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Restore to a Different Drive
-
- The ability to restore a file to a drive other than the one it was backed up
- from has been added to the program since the manual went to press. This
- facility is available from the Restore files by Pattern panel.
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Compatibility Information
-
- Some DOS and Windows applications affect the way PSnS operates. In order
- to ensure that PSnS is not affected, you can set the priority of all of
- its threads to high (via Setup - Priorities from the main menu). A list
- of the applications which are known to cause this problem is contained in
- the file COMPAT.LST, in the root directory of the installation diskette.
