-
- Is the GA that just got announced for the standard edition only?
-
- I'm a little confused by the terms LS and ES. Can someone elaborate
- on this?

-
- Roger,
-
- OS/2 V2 is SE only. There's no EE version because Extended Services
- and LAN Server are packaged separately. OS/2 EE V1.x included both ES
- LS.

-
- Roger,
- Just to elaborate a little on Karl's reply to you:
-
- OS/2 V2.0 does not have a Standard Edition & Extended Edition like we've
- had in the past. It is simply OS/2 V2.0.
-
- Extended Services (ES) has the Communications Manager and Database
- Manager.
-
- LAN Server (LS) has both the LAN Server code as well as the OS/2 & DOS
- LAN requester code.
-
- The GA date for both ES and LS has been moved up to April 10, so it
- won't be very long before they are available.

- Subject: Printers outside a domain in OS/2 2.0 GA
-
- Back in OS/2 1.3, I had two printers defined on a LAN. To get access to
- them, I used the NET.EXE command to logon to a domain (HOUDOM01) and then
- I accessed the printer address "externally". For instance:
-
- NET USE LPT2 \\HD7LPTR\LZPTR
-
- After this command was issued, I would port all printouts to LPT2, either
- from an OS/2 window or from an OS/2 application, such as PMWord.
-
- With OS/2 2.0, the configuration described above has not given me
- positive results. Printouts from an OS/2 window do get printed out;
- however, printouts sent from an OS/2 application do not.
-
- Any ideas, suggestions, comments?
