  12. Installing slidesets:-
  13. ----------------------
  14.  
  15. (1)Copy the contents of this disc into the MSCOPE directory on your hard
  16.    drive. (This directory must already contain Microscope for the PC).
  17.  
  18. (2)Log onto the directory from the DOS command line.
  19.  
  20. (3)Enter the follwing at the Dos Command line:-
  21.  
  22.  
  23.          SLIDES2
  24.  
  25.  
  26. (4)The slidesets will be extracted from the compressed file into the
  27.    directory. Afterwards, you can delete SLIDES2.EXE from your hard-disc
  28.    to save space.
  29.  
  30. (5)To use the slidesets, start Microscope for the PC and INSTALL the sets
  31.    into the control database using the slideset management option from
  32.    Microscope's menu.

  69. Slidesets are sold as packs, normally several slidesets of many images
  70. to a disk. To offer these relatively cheaply outside the United 
  71. Kingdom it is not feasible to ship single disks. Instead all prices have
  72. been simplified for non-UK customers. You can order direct from Molcol
  73. Software at a cost of $9.00 (USA Dollars per disk) but all orders must
  74. be for at least 3 DISKS. No additional shipping or handling charges need
  75. to be added. As you become aware of the growing range of PROfessional
  76. slidesets, simply choose the ones you would like, make sure they total
  77. at least 3 disks and send a cheque for $27.00 (USA dollars)

  79. Any additional slideset disks can be included on the same order for the
  80. reduced price of $8.00 (USA dollars). Here is an example:-

  145. Disk Vendors. Such charge would normally cover their expenses in copying and
  146. distributing disks plus a small profit for the service they provide.

  148. Slidesets in this pack may be used free of charge indefinitely by owners of
  149. LICENSED OR REGISTERED VERSIONS of Microscope for the PC.

  151. Slidesets in this pack may be used for upto 4 weeks by people evaluating the
  152. use of SHAREWARE VERSIONS OF Microscope for the PC to assist them in making
  153. a decision regarding paying a licensing fee and obtaining a licensed 
  154. version.

  156. If you have not already become an owner of a licensed version of Microscope
  157. for the PC then be aware of what you are missing. A simple licence to 
  158. continue viewing SHAREWARE distributed slidesets will enable you to quickly
  159. pick a set for viewing and end the nuisance of having to install a slideset
  160. everytime you want to use it. The licence is not expensive and in return, 
  161. you receive replacement software enabling better performance.

  164. Professional range of slidesets. Examples from these form the basis of

  451. Microscope for the PC is being evolved all the time. Provided it is supported,
  452. several ideas will emerge:-

  457.  Microscopy for users of real instruments. The first 
  458.  modules are already completed. These are due to be released
  459.  to PRO usaers shortly. Further modules can be added including
  460.  users own notes.

  465.  receive cut-price upgrades!

  472.  the PC. It is hoped to produce software and services to
  473.  enable users to display their own real slidesets, photos,
  474.  and Videos of Microscopy subjects in Microscope for the 
  475.  PC.

  479. As the amount of slidesets for Microscope for the PC increases,
  480. more tools are required: cross-references, look-up tables, additional
  481. notes, printing options, grabbing options etc. Such a tool is being
  482. considered.
