  16. MODEL: TS-450S/TS-690S
  17. SUBJECT: Noisy Encoder 
  18.  
  19. Symptom: When tuning the Main Encoder of the TS450S/690S with bare hands 
  20. you may encounter a scratching" noise in the speaker if an antenna with 
  21. a high SWR is used. If gloves are worn no Problem is encountered. 
  22. This occurs because the shaft of the encoder is not grounded.

  26. Replace the Main Encoder with one that has a gounded shaft.
