  17. SUBJECT: Infinite SWR at Beginning of Transmission
  18.  
  19. Symptom:
  20. During "Full Break-in" operation the SWR meter shows infinite SWR at the
  21. beginning of transmit.  This results in a reduction of the transmitter power,
  22. followed by a gradual increase to normal full power.  This symptom does not
  23. occur with the antenna tuner set to "THRU".

  25. Cause:
  26.  
  27. Normally the RXB line should be 0 vdc at the beginning of transmit operations.
  28. We have found that this does not always occur.  The length of time required 
  29. for transmit power to return to normal is directly related to the time 
  30. constant of capacitor C128 on the RXB line.     
  31.  
  32. Corrective Action:
  33.  
  34. Removing this capacitor corrects the above symptom, but might affect the
  35. receiver sensitivity at a dial frequency of 100 kHz. Remove capacitor C128
  36. on the RF Unit (X44-3100-00).

  39. DO NOT MODIFY THE UNIT IF THE SYMPTON IS NOT PRESENT.

  44. circuits.  It also requires familiarity with surface mount soldering
  45. techniques.  If you do not have the proper equipment or knowledge do not
