  17. SUBJECT: Low Cross-band Repeat Audio
  18.  
  19. Symptom:
  20.  
  21. Improper DTMF operation and low microphone audio have been reported by several 
  22. owners of the TM-732A when the units are operated in the Cross-band repeat 
  23. mode.

  25. Parts Required:

  31. Procedure:
  32.  
  33. 1. Detach the front panel assembly from the chassis.
  34. 2. Remove the top and bottom covers from the chassis.
  35. 3. Remove the small countersunk Phillips head screws from the sides of the 
  36.    chassis. These are used to secure the two brackets that holds the plastic 
  37.    front cover to the chassis. Gently pull the plastic cover assembly 
  38.    forward and remove it from the chassis.
  39. 4. The TX/RX Control unit should now be visible on the front of the chassis
  40.    assembly.
  41. 5. Replace R468 and C453 on the foil side of X57-4000-11 C/4 Board.
  42.    These parts are between the litheum battery and the mic jack.
  43. 6. Reverse steps 1 through 3 to reassemble the radio.  
  44. No additional adjustments or modifications will be required.
  45.  
  46. Caution: This modification requires soldering equipment rated for CMOS type
  47. circuits. It also requires familiarity with surface mount soldering
  48. techniques. If you do not have the proper equipment or knowledge do not
  49. attempt this modification yourself. Seek qualified assistance.

  51. Time required for this modification is 30 minutes or less.
