  1. Thank you for purchasing Rebel Assault II.

  3. In the root of this drive you will find two files:
  4.  
  5. README.BAT
  6.     A batch file which displays this text.
  7.  
  8. REBEL2.EXE
  9.    The game Rebel Assault II.  To run the game from DOS, simply type
  10.  
  11.       REBEL2
  12.  
  13.    and press <Enter>.
  14.  
  15.    REBEL2 also takes an optional parameter, which is a directory in which to
  16.    store its settings and pilot files.  The default path is "C:\REBEL2\".  If 
  17.    you wish to override this and write the files into a separate existing 
  18.    directory on your hard drive, then type this after REBEL2 before pressing
  19.    <Enter>.

  21.    For instance, if you have a "GAMES" directory on your C: drive you may type
  22.  
  23.       REBEL2 C:\GAMES
  24.  
  25.    to tell Rebel II to place its files in that directory.  Keep in mind that 
  26.    this directory must already exist.  Rebel II won't create it for you.  Also,
  27.    remember to pass the directory name when running the game in the future so
  28.    it can find your saved pilots, settings, and high scores.  You may wish to 
  29.    make a simple batch file on your hard drive to run the game.  For instance, 
  30.    if your CD-Rom drive is drive D: and you've created a directory called 
  31.    "GAMES" on your C: drive, you might want to create a file REBEL2.BAT in
  32.    the GAMES directory that contains the following 3 lines:

  35.       REBEL2 C:\GAMES

  38.    Note that when running Rebel II from a batch file under Windows 95, the 
  39.    batch file might use up too much low memory so that the BootMaker utility
  40.    will not function properly.
