Thank you for purchasing Rebel Assault II. In the root of this drive you will find two files: README.BAT A batch file which displays this text. REBEL2.EXE The game Rebel Assault II. To run the game from DOS, simply type REBEL2 and press . REBEL2 also takes an optional parameter, which is a directory in which to store its settings and pilot files. The default path is "C:\REBEL2\". If you wish to override this and write the files into a separate existing directory on your hard drive, then type this after REBEL2 before pressing . For instance, if you have a "GAMES" directory on your C: drive you may type REBEL2 C:\GAMES to tell Rebel II to place its files in that directory. Keep in mind that this directory must already exist. Rebel II won't create it for you. Also, remember to pass the directory name when running the game in the future so it can find your saved pilots, settings, and high scores. You may wish to make a simple batch file on your hard drive to run the game. For instance, if your CD-Rom drive is drive D: and you've created a directory called "GAMES" on your C: drive, you might want to create a file REBEL2.BAT in the GAMES directory that contains the following 3 lines: D: REBEL2 C:\GAMES C: Note that when running Rebel II from a batch file under Windows 95, the batch file might use up too much low memory so that the BootMaker utility will not function properly.
