  3.     This version is no longer crippleware.  Display of JPEG images in 24-bit
  4. mode is supported.
  5.     WinJPEG v.0.95 can display GIF images.  It can also write images in JPEG,
  6. GIF, Windows BMP, or OS/2 BMP format.
  7.     A couple of image processing features were added: rotation of an image,
  8. horizontal/vertical flip, changing the RGB in an image, and changing the
  9. HSI in an image.
  10.     Some minor features include an auto-resizing option(Steve Keith gets
  11. credit for this one again) and an option to load an image into in an 8-bit
  12. bitmap.

  17.     Version 3 of the Independent JPEG Group's software is now incorporated
  18. into this version.  2-pass quantization which produces better output is now
  19. supported.  1-pass quantization is faster than the one used in v0.91.
  20. Dithering can be turned on/off.
  21.     WinJPEG can swap to a temporary file if you don't have enough memory
  22. (includes physical and virtual).  Also, using a temporary file sometimes
  23. speeds up the decoding of a JPEG image when you don't have enough physical
  24. memory.
  25.     A preview option is added.  Previewing an image is 25-50% faster than
  26. displaying a JPEG image with 2-level quantization and dithering on. Thanks
  27. to Steve Keith for this idea.

  31.     A bug that causes Windows 3.0 to give a UAE was fixed.  This bug
  32. happens after you load in an image, move down the scroll bar thumb, and
  33. load a smaller picture with no scroll bars activated.  On 3.1, the image
  34. is cut off with a blank margin.  Thanks to Phil Barnes for pointing this
  35. one out.
  36.     Another UAE that occurs when you load in a large image and you use
  37. the scroll bars to display the upper right corner of the picture, was
  38. fixed.
  39.     When you resize the window to a smaller one, WinJPEG would
  40. occasionally display a blank window instead of a loaded image.  This was
  41. fixed too.
  42.     In Windows 3.1, when you reduce the size of a window with no scroll
  43. bars on, to force scroll bars to activate, and then you enlarge the
  44. window size so the scroll bars are turned off, WinJPEG would display a
  45. blank window.  This bug that didn't occur in Windows 3.0 was corrected.
  46.     16-color mode is now fully tested and working.  I was surprised that
  47. some people told me they were using this mode for viewing JPEG images
  48. which can store up to 16 million colors and don't look very good in
  49. 16-color mode.  A UAE that occurs when you view 1024x768 images in
  50. 16-color mode(but not in 256-color mode) was fixed.
