WHAT'S NEW IN VERSION 2.02
(Updated: July 1, 1992)
--------------------------
- LASTBYTE.SYS: Corrected a bug in several low-level physical drivers
for chipsets that have hardware support for EMS. Some were
not reporting the position of the EMS page frame properly.
The affected drivers were the 82C212, 82C222, 82C241, 82C322,
82C812, 82C841, TACT82S411, and UM82C212.
--------------------------
WHAT'S NEW IN VERSION 2.01
(Updated: June 28, 1992)
--------------------------
- Acquired a v.32bis/v.42bis 14,400 baud modem that also supports
class 1 FAX transmissions. See LASTBYTE.DOC for how to send
us a FAX.
- LICENSE.EXE: No longer marked the LASTBYTE.KEY file that it creates
as read-only, hidden, or system.
- LASTBYTE.SYS: Added KEY option to allow user to move LASTBYTE.KEY
file to a subdirectory.
- Changed Physical=82C491 for ETEQ to Physical=ET82C491 to avoid
naming conflict with OPTi 82C491.
- Added support for:
OPTi 82C491 and '495.
VLSI Technology VL82C310, '311, and '311L SCAMP chipsets.
- Added MOVE=OVERLAY support to the physical drivers for the VLSI
Technologies VL82C320 and '330, and Intel 82343 and '346.
- HIGHINST.EXE has been eliminated. HIGHTSR can now be used in with
the INSTALL= directive in CONFIG.SYS.
- HIGHRSVD.EXE, HIGHRSVD.SYS: A new utility to help control the
allocation of upper memory.
- HIGHDISK.SYS, HIGHUMM.SYS, HIGHEMS3.SYS, HIGHEMS4.SYS, HIGHKEY.EXE:
Added a "/NOSPLIT" option to prevent putting most code into
bankswitch memory.
- HIGHKEY.EXE: Command line recall now continues to work after
HIGHAPND ON or HIGHAPND OFF, and after loading/unloading a
secondary copy of the command processor.
- LASTBYTE.SYS: Repaired the SHADOW=XXXX:XX option.
- HIGHTSR.EXE: Corrected a bug that prevented loading a TSR into a DOS 5
Upper Memory Block (UMB).
- HIGHTSR.EXE: Corrected a bug that caused environment to be allocated high
when using /SIZE:#,# despite use of /NOENV. In some cases, this
combination caused the memory control block (MCB) chain to not
be restored properly after the use of HIGHTSR.
- HIGHEMS3.SYS, HIGHEMS4.SYS: Corrected a bug that would cause the driver
to hang if operated with most of its code in bankswitch memory.
- LASTBYTE.SYS: Corrected a bug in the low-level physical drivers for:
VLSI Technologies VL82C320 and '330, Intel 82343 and '346,
Symphony SL82C361 and '461, Suntac ST62C202, '241, and '251,
OPTi 82C391 and '493.
- INSTALL.EXE: Corrected a bug in INSTALL with Physical=LIM4EMS.
This bug appears when using an EMM manager other than EMM386.
It affected both creation of the demo diskette as well as the
automated modification of the user's CONFIG.SYS.
