  3. 3_Drives v1.10: Device driver that allows you to add a 3rd Hard Disc
  4. Drive to your DOS AT (286+) system.  Lets you combine MFM, RLL, ESDI
  5. and SCSI drives with the new low-cost IDE AT Interface drives for a
  6. total of three drives. Windows compatible. Fully functional.

  8. and DOS 5. Shareware ($20) from PC+ Company.

  10. REGISTRATION INFORMATION
  11.  
  12. PC+ Registration Procedure:
  13.  
  14. PC+ Company 3_Drives.HDD device driver is a complete and fully
  15. functional Shareware program.  You are invited to try and test the
  16. device driver for a time period of 14 days (2 weeks) in its
  17. unregistered status.  After this 14 day trail period, the device
  18. driver must be registered with PC+ Company or disengaged.
  19.  
  20. Unlike the flexibility provided in Shareware Applications for
  21. registration reminders, a Shareware Device Driver is often out of
  22. sight and out of mind.  So, please take care to remember that you are
  23. still obliged to follow the rules of the 14 day trail period.

  25. DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE
  26.  
  27. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software
  28. before buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue
  29. using it beyond the trial period, you are expected to register.
  30.  
  31. Copyright laws apply to Shareware software products,
  32. and the copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific
  33. exceptions as stated below. The author specifically grants the
  34. right to copy and distribute the software, either to all or to a
  35. specific group. For example, some authors require written
  36. permission before a commercial disk vendor may copy their
  37. Shareware products.

  39. Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You
  40. should find software that suits your needs and pocketbook,
  41. whether it's commercial or Shareware. The Shareware system makes
  42. fitting your needs easier, because you can try before you buy.
  43. And because the overhead is low, prices are low also. Shareware
  44. has the ultimate money-back guarantee -- if you do not use the
  45. product, you do not pay for it.

  47. 3_Drives is a "shareware program" and is provided at no charge
  48. to the user for evaluation.  Feel free to share it with your
  49. friends, but please do not give it away altered or as part of
  50. another system.  The essence of "user-supported" software is to
  51. provide personal computer users with quality software without
  52. high prices, and yet to provide incentive for programmers to
  53. continue to develop new products.

  55. If you continue to use 3_Drives after 14 days, you must make a
  56. registration payment of $20.00 to PC+ Company. Payment of the
  57. registration fee will license one copy for use on any one computer at
  58. any one time.
  59.  
  60. You must treat this software just like a book.  An example is that
  61. this software may be used by any number of people and may be freely
  62. moved from one computer location to another, so long as there is no
  63. possibility of it being used at one location while it is being used at
  64. another.
  65.  
  66. Commercial users of 3_Drives must register and pay for their copies of
  67. 3_Drives within 14 days of first use or their license is withdrawn.
  68. Site-License arrangements may be made by con- tacting PC+ Company.

  70. Anyone distributing 3_Drives for any kind of remuneration must first
  71. contact PC+ Company at the address below for authorization. This
  72. authorization will be automatically granted to distributors recognized
  73. by the (ASP) as adhering to its guidelines for shareware distributors,
  74. and such distributors may begin offering 3_Drives immediately (However
  75. PC+ Company must still be advised so that the distributor can be kept
  76. up-to-date with the latest version of 3_Drives).

  78. You are encouraged to pass a copy of 3_Drives distribution ZIP file
  79. along to your friends for evaluation.  Please encourage them to
  80. register their copy if they find that they can use it.

  82. We have studied hundreds of shareware products in order to determine a
  83. mutually acceptable registration fee.  This wonderful device driver
  84. does provide a true enhancement to your system and likely allows you
  85. to derive benefit and system uses otherwise impossible.  Therefore, we
  86. have established the following registration fees:

  88.      3_Drives.HDD   $20.00 (US $)  we send a registration key code by
  89.                                    return mail.
  90.      4_Drives.HDD   $30.00 (US $)  we send a diskette by return mail.

  92.      3 to 4 upgrade $10.00 (US $)  we send a diskette by return mail.

  117. The registration process (REGISTER.EXE) will replace the flashing
  118. *** Not Registered *** with your name, it will replace the "Please,
  119. register this Shareware" with "Thanks for supporting Shareware" and,
  120. finally, remove a 2 second initialization delay that has helped to
  121. remind you to register the device driver.
