- as the "funniest woman in the world"; at her home in Henley-on-
- Thames, England. Brandishing her long cigarette holder, Lillie
- delivered masterly double entendres and verbal sallies. She won
- a Tony Award in 1953 for her one-woman show An Evening with
- Beatrice Lillie and acclaim for her roles in such films as Exit
- Smiling (1927) and Around the World in 80 Days (1956).
