Dance of The Sugar-Plump Fairy
</hdr><body>
<p> As detective Harry Crumb, John Candy leaves no stone
unturned but often leaves a trail of churning debris. In the
movie Who Is Harry Crumb?, scheduled for release in February,
the heavyweight star portrays a bumbling private eye who
galumphs his undisguisable shape through myriad costume changes
in pursuit of a kidnaped heiress. Crumb becomes rotund
facsimiles of a Rastafarian window washer, a Hungarian
hairdresser, Don King and Willie Shoemaker. "He has his own
bravado," says the actor of his character, "and a great sense of
conviction." Got up as Harlequin, the detective even manages to
dance a faux pas de deux. "He's a sight to behold," says Candy.
"Women are taken aback by him." And then they are carried out
feet first.
