  7.  Before I begin I must point out why 
  8. this bit is here... any bad news for
  9. the Amiga has got to be good news for 
  10. Atari and any good news for Atari is
  11. good news for STOS. If you have X
  12. amount of Atari owners then you have Y
  13. amount of STOS users, that is, a perc-
  14. entage of Atari owners. Therefore, any
  15. increase in Atari owners must reflect
  16. an increase in STOS users (if they can
  17. get hold of it that is). Least ways, it
  18. must widen the audience for all you 
  19. programmers out there.

  21.  From what I can gather from various 
  22. sources it is my opinion that Amigas 
  23. are on their way out - well Amigas with 
  24. keyboards at any rate. The Full range 
  25. of Amigas are down in price, not in 
  26. competition with Atari, etc., but
  27. because they are to concentrate on the 
  28. Amiga CD. Priced at £299.00 for a stand
  29. alone CD Console sounds a real winner
  30. as the Sega equivalant needs the Mega
  31. Drive to run. But by far the biggest
  32. selling point for the Amiga CD are the
  33. games, quoted in this week's main news-
  34. papers to be a meagre £29.99 each. If
  35. as suggested Commadore stop all produc-
  36. tion of such as the A1200 and concent-
  37. rate solely on the CD console then
  38. that's the end of the Amiga as we know
  39. it.

  41.  There is actually an option to buy the
  42. CD with a keyboard (price unknown), but
  43. can you honestly see anyone buying one?
  44. I can't!

  46.  The Amiga will still be around for a
  47. long time yet. I mean, look at all the 
  48. Spectrum owners still out there and
  49. when was the last time you saw one of 
  50. those in the shops?

  52.  If someone is actually going to walk
  53. into a shop wanting a reasonably priced
  54. home computer that's here to stay,
  55. there will be only one realistic option 
  56. open to them - the ATARI.

  58.  At the end of the day the Amiga has 
  59. always been, and will always be, an 
  60. excellent games machine, so I can see 
  61. the reasoning behind Commadore's
  62. decision to drop the computer look and
  63. concentrate on the console side of
  64. things.

  66.  Why did they put a keyboard on their 
  67. machines in the first place?
  68.

  73. of any Stos or Atari user... honest!
