%05INTERMEM PROFESSIONAL ADD/EDIT HELP
%10THE BASICS
%01LINES%00 Lines 1, 2, 3, and 4 hold the
message that will be displayed on the date
you specified. Line 1 may say %04"10:30
MEETING!"%00 and line 2 may say %04"TALK TO BOB
BEFORE YOU GO."%00
To edit or add a line click on one of the
buttons (LINE 1, LINE 2, LINE 3, or LINE 4).
If there was already something in that line
you can use easily edit it.
%05The line editor has some commands you may
find useful.%00 They are:
HOME - Move to the beginning of the
line.
END - Move to the end of the line.
UP ARROW - Move up a line. (If you are
in line 4, it would move you
to line 3).
DOWN ARROW - Move down a line.
TAB - Same as DOWN ARROW.
To quit, just click on another button or
press ESCape.
%01WARNING%00 The warning is the number of days
before an event that you are warned that the
event is going to happen. So let's say your
wife or husband's birthday is on October
@
13th. You can have INTERMEM Pro remind you
up to nine days in advance. So if you pick
a five day warning, five days before her
birthday INTERMEM will pop up and say,
"WARNING FOR AN IMPORTANT EVENT THAT WILL
OCCUR IN FIVE DAYS:" and your message might
look something like: "Margie's Birthday!"
A nice feature to have available.
%01CLASSIFYING AN EVENT%00 One other key
feature of INTERMEM Pro is the level of
importance feature. This lets you classify
events as being, %04VERY IMPORTANT%00,
%14IMPORTANT%00, or %10NONESSENTIAL%00. How you
classify events is critical because on the
calendar, behind the days, a tile is shown.
This tile can be %04RED%00, %14YELLOW%00, or %10GREEN%00.
If it is %04RED%00 the most important event
of the day is VERY IMPORTANT. If it is
%14YELLOW%00 the most important event is
IMPORTANT, and if it is %10GREEN%00 the
most important event is NONESSENTIAL.
This lets you quickly glance at a calendar
and easily pick out the days important
events are scheduled for. Then you can
click on these days and view/edit the
events.
Also, when your messages are shown to you
the top line displays the basic information
about the event in the color that
corresponds to the event. Again, this way
you can quickly differentiate between the
@
important events and the not-so-important
events.
%01WHEN THE EVENT IS SET TO OCCUR%00 Use this
to set the day the event will occur next.
(So you could set "Jim's Birthday" to occur
next on Janurary 14th, 1994.)
%01HOW OFTEN%00 Another important thing you
must tell IMPRO about is how often you want
the event to occur. You have four choices:
(1) Daily - this means the event will occur
on the start day you specified, then it
will continue to occur every day after that
until you delete it. This is helpful if
you have something to do like "Write the
proposal" and you know you should start
thinking about it on, let's say June 10th,
but you want to be reminded about it
continously until you actually do write
the proposal.
(2) Yearly - a very common selection,
once a year on the given date your event
will pop up. This is used for birthdays,
anniversaries, and all other events that
occur on the same day every year.
(3) Set to occur only once - when you
have an event you want to see just one
time, this is what you want. The event
will show on the date you specified,
@
and then it will delete itself.
(4) Advanced calculations - this lets
you set up virtually any form of
occurance (like the second Monday
following the third Tuesday of
Janurary!). When you click on this
option you will see a screen of
choices, if you need more help,
there is a help button in the
advanced section.
%10ADDING AN EVENT - WHAT AM I DOING?%00
Confused? Don't worry, this should
help. What you are creating is an
event. Your event has many parts,
discussed above. What you do is
enter your message (1-4 lines),
pick a classification (%04VERY IMPORTANT%00,
%14IMPORTANT%00, %10NONESSENTIAL%00), decide
if you want to be warned in advance
that the event is going to happen,
(like five days before the event
you could have a message pop up
saying: Hey in five days this is
going to happen!), and then finally
pick the starting day and how often
it should occur. So once you pick
the starting day, like June 10th,
1994, you could say, well I want this
to occur every year. That means on
June 10th, 1995, 1996, 1997, etc.
@
This event will occur! Its important
to realize, however, that if you
went to June 10th, 1995 on your
calendar the event wouldn't appear
yet. Why is this? Because the
calendar only shows the NEXT TIME
THE EVENT IS SET TO OCCUR.
