  6. What Is CyberNet?
  7. -----------------

  9. CyberNet is a support network of Bulletin Board Systems using 
  10. FidoNet-compatible mailers to exchange messages and files relating to 
  11. software products from Serious Cybernetics.  The host system for Cybernet is 
  12. The Phoenix StarFighter BBS (our primary support site), located in Lula 
  13. Georgia USA, FidoNet/CyberNet address 1:3616/20.

  16. Who Can Belong To CyberNet?
  17. ---------------------------

  19. Anyone capable of using a FidoNet-compatible mailer who has an interest in 
  20. any software distributed by Serious Cybernetics will generally be welcome 
  21. within this network.  Access to CyberNet is granted by the host system at 
  22. 1:3616/20.  Your actual link to CyberNet may be from another CyberNet node, 
  23. this will be determined by your capabilities and locations of other nodes in 
  24. your vicinity, under control of the host system.  Any and all requests for 
  25. access to CyberNet should be forwarded via FidoNet Netmail to 1:3616/20, 
  26. addressed to either Scott Davis or Danny Sosebee.

  29. CyberNet Network Description - Echo Areas
  30. -----------------------------------------

  32. Currently there are two echomail areas within the CyberNet network. It is 
  33. required that you carry both of these echomail areas to be a member of 
  34. CyberNet.  The specifications and requirements for setup of these echos are 
  35. as follows :

  45. Description    :  This echo is for primary support discussion of any
  46.            software release by Serious Cybernetics.  It should be
  47.                    made available to the public

  57. Description    :  This echo is restricted to sysops within the CyberNet
  58.            structure, and is primarily for administrative messages
  59.            relating to CyberNet itself.  Any difficulties with
  60.            links, questions regarding membership, or other such
  61.                    problems should be posted here.

  63. If you are a member of CyberNet, it is REQUIRED that you carry these 
  64. echomail areas.  CYBER should be made available to the public.  In the case 
  65. of a conflict, the moderators may request that the echo be denied to problem 
  66. users.  The CYBER echo is strictly for the support of release versions of 
  67. software by Serious Cybernetics.  It is most emphatically NOT a place to 
  68. discuss ALPHA or BETA versions of any software.  Idle chatter should be 
  69. limited to a minimum, as should excessive quoting of reply text. Please 
  70. remember that some sysops are paying long distance phone bills to receive 
  71. this echo.  Be courteous.  The CYBER_SYSOP echo is strictly for use by the 
  72. sysops within CyberNet to discuss any problems associated with network links 
  73. and other administrative functions.  Software discussions should not be 
  74. posted here.

  76. Please note that CyberNet is a special interest support group, and all 
  77. CyberNet links are asked to respect this and prevent misuse of it on your 
  78. systems.

  81. Serious Cybernetics Bug Reports
  82. -------------------------------

  84. Serious Cybernetics will make every attempt to answer questions and provide 
  85. products which are as bug-free as we can make them.  However, please note 
  86. that we are humans and make mistakes like everyone else.  If you have 
  87. trouble with some of our software, feel free to let us know the difficulty 
  88. as soon as possible.  Detailed information on software problems should be 
  89. provided whenever possible.  The more information, the better and quicker we 
  90. can respond.

  92. When posting a bug report in the CYBER echo, please be sure to provide the 
  93. following information :
  94.  
  95.   - Programme/Library Name and Version Number.
  96.   - Any error codes produced by the programme/library.
  97.   - Unusual hardware and/or software configuration you are using.
  98.   - A detailed explination of the exact error and it's results, with
  99.     examples if possible.  This one is VERY important.

  101. All bug reports should be addressed to Scott Davis.  Scott is the CEO of 
  102. Serious Cybernetics and the author of our software.  Questions regarding 
  103. CyberNet itself, it's links, and it's base functioning should be posted to 
  104. Danny Sosebee using the CYBER_SYSOP echo.

  107. CyberNet Network Description - File Areas
  108. -----------------------------------------
  109.  
  110. There are 7 file areas within the CyberNet network.  You may choose not to 
  111. take any of these areas.  If you do take any CyberNet file areas, you must 
  112. take CYBEROPS, as it is the relay for all network administrative files. The 
  113. other file areas are totally optional.  All files injected into these areas 
  114. will come from our primary support site only, they should not be entered 
  115. from other CyberNet links.  At a later date, other file areas may be added 
  116. for related files which will allow others to contribute to.  All files 
  117. injected into these areas will be via HATCH, and will require the receiver 
  118. to set up a copy of TICK or an equivalent programme to process the new 
  119. files.

  133. It should be stressed here that all CyberNet nodes who set up to take these 
  134. file echo's should set them up for RECEIVE ONLY.  At the current time, files 
  135. will only be hatched into CyberNet from our host system.
