This is for a 25-25 pin cable. For a minimal 9-9pin cable it is:
2 <----> 3
3 <----> 2
5 <----> 5
since GND is pin 5 on a 9 pin connector. If you feel like doing it properly
a full null-modem cable for 9 pin connectors is:
RXD 2 <----> 3 TXD
TXD 3 <----> 2 RXD
DTR 4 <--+-> 1 DCD
|-> 6 DSR
DCD 1 <-|
DSR 6 <-+--> 4 DTR
RTS 7 <----> 8 CTS
CTS 8 <----> 7 RTS
GND 5 <----> 5 GND
It is also a good idea to ground RI (pin 9) to pin 5 at each end but this
is often not done (which leaves the input floating and can cause
spurious interrupts).
