I only found this group today so if these questions have been asked,
forgive me father for I have sinned......
I have an AWE32 sound card that is supposed to support General Midi.
When I run setup and configure to GM and then run doom, I get SoundFX
(Still configured for SB in SFX) but Sweet FA in the music department.
When I run Aweutil to configure to General Midi and soak up 40k of
Conventional memory, and then run doom with the above settings, the machine
crashes and there endeth the story.
My machine is a Pentium PCI 60Mhz with 16Mb RAM so I will assume that speed
and extended memory problems can be eliminated.
Thanks in advance for any help that is given.
