While Doom is one of the great all time games some improvements
for it could be :
1) Co-operative puzzles for co-operative mode (PWADS) such as pressing a
button simultaneously in two locations (or within 5 seconds) this would
also work well in a deathmatch scenario.
2) Multi-team deathmatches where there are 4 teams and each player on
the team is the same colour (up to 20 players for network play) and they
can span multiple levels. (Also work well with co-op puzzles)
3) New weapons for deathmatches such as :
Mines - when someone treds on it they go kaboom!
Stun Gun - similar to plasma gun but stuns opposition, more shots fired
longer they are paralyzed for.
Grenades - thrown and blow up after certain time.
Explosives - put down and detonated remotely (excellent for level 1 with
someone hiding in the secret passage near the shotgun)
4) Also each player could have a video camera which could be placed
anywhere and along them to view a passage.
