I just read what I posted and it seems I managed to miss out a large
paragraph of info.

I used DMGRAPH to pull out anyy the textures that began with WALL and looked
at them, but the problem is there seem to be up to four pictures for any
given wall. I pulled on wall out (FIREBLU1 in DEU nomenclature), pulled
it into Corel PhotoPaint and removed all the red, but when I installed it
into a PWAD file (according to DMGRAPH you can do this), DEU choked very
severely on the PWAD afterwards.
So, is there some special format this file needs to be in? Are they any
nice utilities like DEU that will edit wall textures?
Cheers for your time,
