Because of [inferior if you will] Mac hardware, they cant use Video pages and
will have to use Blts intead, because of [inferior if you will] Mac screen mode
restrictions, on anything less than a power Mac you will be playing DOOM is a
small window (or pixel doubled to full screen for extra choppy framerate)
I believe Marathon will have all these problems too (unless of course you run
it on a PowerMac).
Macs just can't cut games (and its Apples fault, the machine is capable of most
of this stuff but Apple wont document how to do it), unless of course you like
Asteriods in which the Mac is for you! :)
