I have been enjoying playing several deathmatch games. However, I have a
question about how Doom determines which computer sends or listens for
network start info...
I have a 486-DX2/66 and my friend has a 386DX/40. We run Doom 1.5 shareware.
During the start of a modem game this message will appear:
sending Network start info...
or
listening for Network start info...
Usually mine says 'sending' his says 'listening', no matter who calls who.
The game usually stops at this point.
However, about 1 in every 4 times we try and connect mine says 'listening'
and his says 'sending'. The game then continues without a hitch.
Is there a way to force mine to 'listen' and his to 'send'??
I have heard that -player1 should be used on the slow machine, is this true,
I couldn't find that command line parameter to sersetup in the FAQ.
On a related note, he is always green and I am always indigo, can you change
the colors??
Please let me know by email or post.
Thanks a bunch,
John K.
