  13. -> I am trying to modify the graphics for the status bar at the bottom
  14. -> of the DOOM screen.  Using Wacker (Wackerb7.zip from
  15. -> infant2.sphs.indiana.edu) it looks like the graphics to modify are
  16. -> STBAR and STARMS.  I have been able to export these graphics to .BMP
  17. -> format, modify them, and re-import to STBAR and STARMS.  The problem
  18. -> is then in constructing a WAD file that DOOM can use to replace the
  19. -> status bar graphics.  I have followed the Wacker instructions to
  20. -> create a WAD, no errors are generated, but the resulting WAD does not
  21. -> modify DOOM!.  The Wacker instruction I used are shown below:

  23. -> CREATE TWAD
  24. -> SOB TWAD STBAR STBAR.BMP
  25. ->
  26. -> (exit Wacker and edit STBAR.BMP)
  27. ->
  28. -> CREATE TWAD
  29. -> LDW TWAD COKE.WAD
  30. -> LPB TWAD STBAR STBAR.WAD  (picture window now displays the updated
  31. -> graphic) MOVE TWAD P_END STBAR
  32. -> SDW TWAD STBAR.WAD

  34. -> After exiting Wacker and running DOOM, the status bar has not been
  35. -> modified! Can anyone provide me with a clue.  Thanks in advance.

  37. Try loading that stbar.wad as an external wad.
